July 7: After a stomach-turning ride up narrow roads to Pordoi Joch, 2239m (7346 ft), we took a gondola to Sas Pordoi 2950m (9678 ft) and started our hike. At times the path bottlenecked, there were so many people out.
Hike to Piz Boé, 3152m (10,341 ft)
We are taking the gondola to that tiny speck on top of the mountain
The road that made everyone car sick
Queasiness at every turn
We will visit the top 2 huts
Similar to out West

Rif. Forcella Pordoi 2829m (9281 ft) We went down before going up
Chance of sunburn-high today
The hut we are going to is that tiny speck at center
Slowdown at the cabled areas
You can see all the people snaking their way up (camera on wrong setting)
wow again

We made it!
The staff hikes up and down to the hut each day.

There was no wind, it was beautiful up there!
Sue relaxing at over 10,000 ft.
The views are worth the climb
This outhouse (cabled to the rocks) has great views!
Going back down through the cables
Back at the first hut
Looks like the Grand Canyon
It’s a long way down
Climbers can be seen at right
The Maria route was set by Tita Plaz, the “Devil of the Dolomites”.
Metal crosses instead of gravestones
