a bit About paris
Paris is divided into Arrondissments (neighborhoods) that spiral out from the city center, Point Zero, on Ilé de la Cite. Detailed descriptions of these area can be found on this page:
http://www.parisnet.net/parismap.html

The city is divided by the River Seine into the Left bank (Rive Gauche) and the Right Bank (Rive Droite) which you can identify by facing downstream.

The Metropolitan (Metro) is the subway system that gets you where you want to go.
